Casper City Council is at it Again

Who was it that said, “never let a crisis go to waste”? We need only look to the Casper city council, who introduced an international building ordinance in 2018 that failed because of the outcry of Casper residents. Only to see its ugly head in 2020 during the COVID 19 restrictions in which the “public” city council meetings are, well, not so public after all. Yes they had video and audio streaming, but by any stretch, the meeting was anything but public. Residents could not effectively present documentation, and the communications was spotty. In other words, the council is capitalizing on the poor communications and low attendance that they themselves implemented for the meeting. Their decision to pass this ordinance on first reading was unanimous.

Here is a link to an excellent article that provides detail to the fiasco meeting: Casper city council moves against private property owners.
